The holidays are filled with twinkling lights, homemade meals and trips to see relatives - all of which can put a dent in your pocketbook and take the shine off the season. To help avoid becoming a penny-pinching Scrooge, consider saving money this holiday season by being more energy efficient...

When it comes to architectural and landscape design, Lara Berkley, ASLA/LEED AP, and Scott Ogden, AIA/LEED AP, work literally from the ground up. Partners in B+O Design Studio, located at 205 Princess Street, Berkley and Ogden help homeowners turn green into a lifestyle, not just a practice. Volunteers needed for planning Earth Day Festival

The Wilmington Earth Day Alliance (EDA), the non-profit organization which plans the annual Earth Day Festival in Wilmington needs committed volunteers to help organize the 2011 event.  Interested volunteers should be prepared to devote about 2 hours per month to the EDA throughout the year with more time required during March and April.

To learn more or to join the EDA, contact Shannon Culpepper, New Hanover County Environmental Programs Assistant at 910-798-4452 or by email. For additional information about the festival, visit the Wilmington Earth Day web site.

Can we hire your house?

CFGBA seeks a few houses in the downtown area to be used for field training during our BPI-approved classes.  The ideal house would have a low-efficiency gas furnace located in the main part of the residence. Homeowners will receive $100/day from the CFGBA for use of the house to train small groups of people. More information...
