The Department of Energy's (DOE's) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is actively seeking input from Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certified Professionals, Accredited Contractors and Training Affiliates on new voluntary workforce training guidelines for home energy efficiency upgrades introduced yesterday by the Obama administration.

The Responsible Bathroom Water Conservation Tour

 
American Standard's national tractor tour featuring their water-saving products will be in Wilmington on Tuesday, November 16. Longley Supply at 2018 Oleander Drive is hosting the free event, which includes lunch,  from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Attendees who bring business cards can enter a sweepstakes for the following prizes: a Canadian fly fishing trip for two, a Guatemala sail fishing expedition, a luxury villa vacation in Cabo San Lucas and a Windstar cruise. All CFGBA members and their guests are invited.
 
 
Historic renovation seminar

On Wednesday, November 17 from 6:00-7:30 p.m., CFGBA members David Lisle of Lisle Architecture and Design and Nick Balding of Balding Brothers Restoration and Remodeling, are hosting a seminar on historic renovations. Participants will learn about the unique steps and constraints of working within a historic district and with historic structures.

The free seminar, which will take place at the offices of Lisle Architecture, is designed for current or future owners of historic homes who are considering a large restoration or remodeling project such as an addition, kitchen, bathroom or whole-house renovation.
